    A French SME specialised in the development of energy self-sufficient connected objects has developed a new self-powered technology which controls the temperature and humidity of thermo-sensitive products during transport. The SME wants to collaborate under a license contract with trucks outfitters able to integrate the technical solution into their production process.
  • Description:
    The French Start up is specialised in the development of energy self-sufficient electronic devices. The company has developed a new sensor-based technology aiming at monitoring the temperature and humidity rate inside a truck trailer.

    For a single temperature trailer, one sensor can be sufficient. For more than one temperature/humidity monitored, at least one sensor per compartment is required and the sensors make a mesh network. There are two type of association of the sensor(s) with the receiver.

    - 1st type: The sensors are connected to a remote which enables the truck driver to select the temperature/humidity range of the goods to monitor. Then, every 5 minutes the remote is updated and can generate low or high temperature/humidity alerts thanks to a red or green alert. The remote has a 60 days storage memory with 1 record per 5 minutes.
    - 2nd type: Thanks to a wireless link, the sensors communicate with a gateway located in the truck. The gateway is connected to a server through LoRa, Sigfox, or GPRS protocol. It pushes every 5 minutes the temperature/humidity received from the sensors to the cloud server in such a way that , low or high temperature/humidity alerts can be generated if required.

    The technology is really useful for the following applications :
    - Thermo-sensitive products in general
    o Refrigerated trucks with frozen goods
    o Aerospace parts transportation

    - Humidity sensitive products
    o Trailers transporting arts objects or glasses.

    The SME is about to acquire the EN12830 certification for this technology.
    The French company is looking for an outfitter able to integrate the technology into its production process. The SME would like to collaborate under a license agreement.
